Description of Responsibilities:

The Alumni Engagement Officer is responsible for engaging alumni through mutually beneficial programs and services that encourage active participation in and support of the College. Responsibilities include creative programming, outreach and compelling communication to and among alumni, and providing opportunities for alumni to be engaged in the life of Nazareth College consistent with the goals and objectives of the institution.

Under the guidance of the Director of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving, this position will both develop and implement new alumni engagement opportunities (virtual/in-person) and manage existing ones requiring this person to work collaboratively with campus partners. Such opportunities include traditional programs such as Reunion/ Homecoming activities as well as those related to career and professional development, educational sessions/webinars, affinity networks and networking all of which encourages lifelong learning. This person will also identify opportunities for alumni to support student success.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: identifying and training new volunteers, attending Alumni Board meetings, coordinating logistics for meetings, initiating programs that connect alumni to and strengthen Nazareth, as well as supporting alumni communications, strategic planning and program development.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the implementation and management of alumni engagement initiatives focused on growing volunteer networks, life-long engagement, and connection with their alma mater that demonstrates the clear mutual benefit of engagement. This includes implementation of digital and early engagement strategies, and meaningful engagement of the Alumni Advisory Board to advance goals and objectives.
  • Manage all early engagement, experiential learning and tradition-focused alumni events, including (but not limited to): Reunion/Homecoming, 51+ Club Luncheon, Alumni Awards, Career Connection Breakfast and development of alumni affinity groups. planning and management of the event, including invitations, registration, publicity, vendor coordination, speaking program and VIP coordination.
  • Develop and/or maintain strong working relationships/partnerships with key College stakeholders and unit-based colleagues to maximize resources. Manage assessment, tracking and reporting of alumni engagement to measure program participation and effectiveness.
  • All other duties as assigned

Education: Bachelor’s degree

Experience/Personal Qualifications:

  • At least three years relevant professional work experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to engage and motivate both internal and external constituents
  • Strong communication skills with excellent written and verbal skills. Strong understanding and commitment to customer service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, proactively and positively.
