Description of Responsibilities: RCN, a not-for-profit organization located in Rochester, NY, is seeking an Executive Director. We have a 161 year history of serving children and supporting families in our community. We value knowledgeable, dedicated staff, who support our philosophy of a nurturing, playful and inclusive learning environment. Our agency includes the following programs: Childrens Program with child care, EPK, UPK; Special education program and services; a Family Child Care/CACFP program.

Life Insurance: Employer paid, 2 times salary, maximum $100,000. Supplemental Life, Long Term Disability & AD&D is available.

Education:
 Master's in Education (MSED) preferred with consideration for BS in related field, along with extensive relevant experience; 10+ years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven leadership, coaching, relationship and management experience.
Experience/Personal Qualifications: Leadership and Management of the Agency:
  1. Articulates, promotes and ensures the day to day implementation of RCNs mission and vision
  2. Maintains fiscal management of the agency including developing, recommending, and monitoring the agencys budgets, in conjunction with the director of finance, treasurer, and assistant treasurer, and agency department heads.
  3. Formulates, develops and expands a comprehensive quality early childhood program in partnership with the leadership team, based upon a developmentally appropriate approach to learning. Supervises and evaluates the department heads/directors of all agency programs, including the childrens programs, family child care, special education, development, facilities, and finance, in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws and regulations.
  4. Using evidence-based tools and processes, evaluates all aspects of the agencys programs and services.
  5. Ensures that all aspects of the agencys operations meet all governmental legal requirements.
  6. Provides leadership in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives.
  7. Serves ex-officio as the agency CEO, representing the agency at all Board meetings including Board committees.
  8. Establishes and maintains open communications with staff, parents, children and family child care providers.
  9. Takes a leadership role in advocating for quality early education and care at the local, state, and national
  10. Develops ongoing relationships with community and state leadership, including the Mayors office, county and state representatives, and other relevant policy makers and stakeholders.
