Description of Responsibilities: The individual in this role is a member of the Rochester Museum & Science Center's (RMSC) fundraising team that supports and achieves fundraising goals and objectives in service of the RMSC mission. This individual manages a portfolio of individual prospects/donors in the funding cycle; identifies and cultivates funding sources; prepares proposals, reports, and correspondence; and acts as a good steward for contributions.The successful candidate will also work closely with the entire Institutional Advancement team, CEO, Capital Campaign Director and members of the Board of Trustees, Museum staff, volunteers, and local community leaders. They will be responsible for implementation of ongoing development programs as well as fundraising to support both existing and new concepts.

The chosen candidate will:

  • Work with the team to set overall development policies, long and short-term goals, as well as strategies and approaches to ensure successful fundraising.
  • Serve as primary relationship manager for a portfolio of current and prospective donors. This includes identifying, researching, cultivating, personally soliciting, and stewarding high level major gifts from the portfolio of current and prospective donors for annual and Capital giving. It also includes facilitating relationships between donors and other RMSC team members and volunteers as appropriate.
  • Ensure donor interaction goals are achieved and document interactions in Altru database.
  • Create and implement moves management plans for existing and new prospects in portfolio.
  • Participate on development committee as needed Provide support and/or attend all RMSC fundraising events. Also serve as RMSC representative at community events as needed.
  • Prepare financial development projections, forecasts and call reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Education: Bachelor's Degree required.
Experience/Personal Qualifications: Five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
