Description of Responsibilities: This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the YMCA of Greater Rochester's new Schottland Family Branch!

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Director of Donor Engagement will be responsible for the solicitation of Annual Campaign gifts and directing volunteers and staff as they solicit Annual Campaign gifts for the Schottland Family Branch, Camp Arrowhead, Victor Branch, and Before and Afterschool Programs. The Director is a Branch Leader and its key Annual Campaign fundraiser, who is tasked with advancing a culture of philanthropy that creates robust financial support for the mission of the YMCA.

The primary responsibility of the Director of Donor Engagement is developing relationships with current and prospective donors, including YMCA members, program participants, and members of the community, that lead to philanthropic commitments to the Annual Campaign.

Secondary to this is the ongoing coaching and coordination of the Branch staff and volunteer teams to be active in the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of Annual Campaign donors. Working closely with high-level branch volunteers and YMCA staff, the Director must ensure that the monetary goal is met or exceeded each year.

The Director of Donor Engagement will be an active member of the community, who continually seeks opportunities to share the Y's cause-driven message. Working closely with the YMCA of Greater Rochester's Association Philanthropy Department, the Director of Donor Engagement will join a group of talented development professionals throughout the organization who are focused on reaching and surpassing the goals of the Strengthening Communities Comprehensive Campaign.

The Director will begin work in the Southeast Family Branch, and transition to the Schottland Branch when it opens in September. Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience/Personal Qualifications:
- 4 to 6 years of professional experience in development or a closely related field. 
- Demonstrated success in fundraising and individual gift solicitation and cultivation. 
- Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), including the ability to present before large groups, interact with high-level donors, and to represent the Y in a professional and appealing manner to all prospective donors, volunteers, staff, and in the community. 
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in a fast-paced team environment is critical. 
- The successful candidate must have a personal vehicle and the ability to travel locally on a consistent basis.
