The Chamberlain Scholarship for International Conference
Deadline for Applications: December 2nd, 2024
The Association of Fundraising Professionals Genesee Valley Chapter is excited to announce the opening of our 2025 Chamberlain Scholarship, which allows one outstanding applicant in the fundraising field to attend and learn essential fundraising techniques and responsibilities at the AFP International Conference on Fundraising, held in Seattle, Washington from April 27-29, 2025! We are proud to continue this time-honored legacy of granting this scholarship to those who are wanting and willing to learn the latest and greatest techniques and strategies to excel at stewarding donors and raising awareness of the importance of the fundraising field. We ask for applications to be submitted until December 2, 2024. For more information about the conference, please visit http://afpicon.com/.
The Chamberlain Scholarship is named in honor of Ralph E. Chamberlain, CFRE. Ralph had a long and distinguished career of service to the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), beginning in the 1960s and ending with his death in 1999. His dedication to the AFP never faltered. Because of Ralph’s long-time support of the Association’s annual fund and a generous planned gift, the AFP Board of Directors renamed their Conference Scholar Program to the Chamberlain Scholarship in 2000 to honor his memory and commitment to the AFP. There will be one scholarship awarded during the 2024 scholarship application window, which allows the awardee a complimentary registration (minus a $10 processing fee) to the 2025 International Conference on Fundraising (ICON), in addition to $1,000 in scholarship funds that covers travel, room, and board.
The Chamberlain Scholarship will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Candidate is employed as a fundraising professional or, if candidate is an executive director, a substantial amount of time is devoted to fundraising.
- Candidate has never attended an AFP (or NSFRE) International Conference on Fundraising as a registered participant.
- Candidate agrees to complete an online Evaluation Form about his or her experience at the International Conference.
Additional Information:
- Application Deadline: December 2, 2024
- All Chamberlain Scholars qualify for the “early bird” conference registration rate, regardless of when they register. A registration fee of $10 is the responsibility of the recipient.
- Chamberlain Scholars are responsible for registering themselves for the Conference and for making all travel and lodging arrangements by using a special Chamberlain Scholar Registration Form which will be provided.
