Description of Responsibilities:
Donor & Community Engagement 

  • Lead the planning and execution of fundraising activities related to annual community events (Walking on Sunshine, Thrill on the Hill, etc.) 
  • Work closely with the Advancement and Marketing teams 
  • Plan and implement donor engagement opportunities throughout the year (Eat, Drink & Be Mary, Sunrise Circle events, donor recognition and stewardship related events, etc.) 
  • Arrange special donor and prospective donor tours, luncheons and meetings as needed with the President, Director of Agency Advancement, and/or Sr. Manager

Annual Giving Program Support 

  • Support the Advancement team in strategizing and implementing the stewardship plan for members of the Sunrise Circle (the leadership annual giving society) 
  • Manage processes supporting Annual Fund solicitations, third-party fundraising efforts, and in-kind gifts 
  • Act as the lead contact with the United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes, coordinating and implementing the annual internal staff campaign and ROC the Day 
  • Manage relationships with state (SEFA) and federal (CFC) associations

Volunteer Engagement 

  • Vet and coordinate agency volunteers for support with daily needs and special events 
  • Communicate regularly with volunteers to ensure they are engaged 
  • Recruit volunteers as needed

Additional Duties 

  • Draft correspondence, acknowledgment letters, and regular communications 
  • Serve as a backup resource for database donation entries if needed
  • Represent Mary Cariola at internal and external events as needed, occasionally outside of regular work hours 
  • Other duties may be assigned

Education: Bachelor’s degree required

Experience/Personal Qualifications: 

  • 2-3 years of fundraising event and/or stewardship experience or equivalent project management experience
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English including interpreting documents business periodicals, professional journals, government regulations, technical procedures etc.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions
